Meet Leahn

Leahn Grounds is the owner and Director of Maraylya Early Learning Centre.

Passionate about the need for high quality care and education for her own children when they were young, Leahn and her husband Peter purpose-built MELC in 2005 to provide the community with a quality child care alternative.  As a working mother of three children, Leahn has a great understanding of the pressures of juggling home and work life and endeavours to provide the support young families need by offering long day care, occasional care and vacation care options.   

Leahn’s focus now is on successfully managing the day to day operations of the Centre, planning for the future, training and education of staff, and ensuring the high standards of child care she demanded for her own family are still provided to the community.  She is a firm believer in the need for continuous improvement and innovation, working hard to ensure that MELC offers families the latest in quality education, resources and technology. 

Leahn was previously employed in the NSW Police Force from 1985 to 2004. She worked in a variety of roles including juvenile crime and youth liaison and as a Mounted Police Officer, and completed a Diploma of Law (SAB) at Sydney University in 1998.
